Zaluzhnyi could become the president of Ukraine? Sociologist's forecast.

According to a sociological study presented by the 'Social Monitoring' center, Ukraine's ambassador to Great Britain Valerii Zaluzhnyi is the most popular politician among Ukrainians and would win the presidential elections if they were held in two weeks. Professor Yevhen Holovakha, however, warns that real political competitions may change the result.

«It is not so simple in the electoral world. It is clear that his abstract rating is the highest. But when political life begins, which can only happen when there is no martial law in Ukraine, if the war ends, political life will begin, political campaigns will start, and he will have to turn to voters», — emphasized Yevhen Holovakha.

According to the professor, there are no guarantees that Valerii Zaluzhnyi will be the winner of the presidential elections, as he lacks the political charisma that would allow him to influence the masses. He emphasized that presidential elections are more often won by 'populists' rather than military commanders.

It is worth noting that Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Valerii Zaluzhnyi from the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 8, 2024, and he is currently serving as Ukraine's ambassador in London.
