A suspect in the rape of a 12-year-old schoolgirl has been detained in the Kirovohrad region.
According to ТСН: The police in the Kropyvnytskyi district of Kirovohrad region detained a 24-year-old man suspected of raping a minor girl.
Details of the incident
This incident occurred in one of the settlements of the district. The investigation found that the victim, a girl born in 2011, was returning home. A familiar man drove up to her on the street.
He offered to give the schoolgirl a ride. The girl, knowing the driver, agreed to get into the car. However, during the ride, the man, disregarding the will of the child, committed sexual acts against her.
Upon receiving a report from the girl's father, law enforcement quickly established the location of the suspect, who turned out to be a 24-year-old local resident.
Legal status of the suspect
The man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators have already informed him of the suspicion of committing a crime.
The sanctions of this article provide for severe punishment - imprisonment for up to fifteen years. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway.

Recall that in Kyiv, a 14-year-old student from one of the schools in the Obolon district inflicted a knife wound on a 39-year-old history teacher and another student. After this, the boy ran out of the classroom and inflicted a knife wound on himself.
After providing medical assistance, he is planned to be detained under Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
"During the examination of his phone, correspondence with unknown persons was found - presumably representatives of Russian special services, with whom the minor discussed his plans to commit the crime. The motives for the schoolboy's actions are being established," the agency added.
These events indicate significant problems related to the safety of children and adolescents in Ukraine. It is important for law enforcement to take necessary measures to protect the youth and ensure their safety. Society must discuss how to prevent similar cases in the future, as the safety of children is a shared responsibility of all.
