Teachers salaries in 2025: how much they have grown and why they lag behind.
According to inkorr.com: In September 2025, the average salary of teachers in Ukraine was 12,500 UAH, which is 8.7% more than last year. However, this is still half the national average of 25,911 UAH. This was reported by Delo.ua based on OLX Work data.
Increase in job vacancies for teachers
Despite low salaries, the number of responses to teaching vacancies has increased by 44%. The number of advertisements has remained stable, indicating a growing interest in this profession.
OLX Work experts note that
pedagogy is one of the most well-paid fields, but the facts indicate the opposite: the average salary of full-time employees in August rose to 25,911 UAH, while teachers receive only half of that amount.
Teachers salaries in Poland
In Poland, teachers' salaries range from 57,000 to 83,000 UAH, depending on category and experience, which could be an incentive for migration. However, the job market for teachers in Ukraine is becoming more active, despite the challenges. The increase in the number of responses to job vacancies is related to the stability of the profession during the war, although income remains low.
Salaries of kindergarten teachers in 2025
In early childhood education, the situation looks better: the median salary of kindergarten teachers rose to 14,500 UAH (+11.5% year-on-year). The number of responses to job vacancies increased by 12%, while the number of vacancies themselves rose by 20%. Tutors working hourly earn 400 UAH per hour (+33% compared to 2024), indicating a growing demand for individual learning through remote formats.
Structure of a teacher's salary
The structure of
the teacher's salaryconsists of a basic salary of 3,195 UAH, to which tariff coefficients, allowances, and bonuses are added. To motivate teachers, they are offered 10-50% of the salary (600-2,500 UAH) depending on experience, certification, prestige, foreign language proficiency, or subject complexity. Without experience, a teacher earns 6,694 UAH, which is almost half of the average salary of 12,649 UAH in the sector. Seniority bonuses are distributed as follows:

over 3 years – 10% of the salary;

over 10 years – 20%;

over 20 years – 30%.
The Ministries of Finance and Education are working on increasing salaries. However, priorities are focused on defense and the budget sector under conditions of aggression. Teachers are planned for a gradual increase: +30% from January 1, 2026, and another +20% from September 1. This should help offset inflation and retain staff, as there is currently a 20% shortage of teachers in schools.
