Scientists have concluded why intelligent people often feel lonely. A study published in the British Journal of Psychology showed that individuals with high IQs communicate less with others.
Psychologists from the London School of Economics and the Singapore Management University explored the responses of more than 15,000 people and concluded that highly intelligent individuals do not need a wide circle of friends for happiness. The brains of such people work differently, and they prefer their own inner world.
For people with high IQs, excessive social activity is distracting and prevents them from focusing on important tasks. Moreover, the more they communicate, the less happy they feel. According to a researcher from the Brooklyn Institute, they spend time and effort achieving their goals and feel happy.
Conclusion
According to the study's results, individuals with high IQs can experience their happiness and satisfaction from achievements in their field without needing a large number of social contacts. For such individuals, inner self-improvement and working on their own goals are more important than noisy parties and chaos in a group of friends.Read also
