NBU lowers prices on gold scrap: new tariffs on metal.
According to inkorr.com: The National Bank has updated prices for the purchase of gold raw materials due to the decline in global
gold quotations are falling again. This occurred against the backdrop of improving relations between the USA and China. This reduction has already been noted in the Ukrainian market, as reported by 24 Kanal, citing data from the NBU.
How much does a gram of gold cost by assay
As of October 29, 2025, the cost of gold scrap in Ukraine looks like this:
333 assay — 1,784.54 UAH/g
375 assay — 2,009.61 UAH/g
500 assay — 2,679.49 UAH/g
583 assay — 3,124.28 UAH/g
585 assay — 3,135.00 UAH/g
750 assay — 4,019.23 UAH/g
900 assay — 4,823.07 UAH/g
999 assay — 5,353.61 UAH/g.
To determine the purity of the metal in the product, it is necessary to divide the assay by 10. For example, assay 585 means that the alloy contains 58.5% pure gold.
Global trends: gold is becoming cheaper
On the international market, the price of an ounce of gold has decreased by 1% — to $3,941.65. For comparison: on October 20, this price reached a record $4,381.21. Thus, since the beginning of the year, gold has fallen by more than 50%.
NBU changed the price for banking metal
The National Bank has also revised the purchase prices for banking gold: one gram costs 5,413.10 UAH, which is significantly lower than the figure a month ago when the price exceeded 5,800 UAH.
Analysts note that the price decline may continue if economic tensions between the USA and China continue to ease. This could have a significant impact on the international market and the economy of Ukraine, as gold is traditionally considered a reliable asset in unstable times.
