Zelensky announced a new type of military: what are the separate assault brigades.
Creation of new assault forces in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Ukraine plans to create a new type of military — separate assault units, as announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky. These units will be equipped with modern technologies, including drones. Given that the 'Russians' already have similar forces, the decision to create assault forces in Ukraine seems quite justified.
“As for the assault troops, we have established assault battalions, regiments that are showing, without a doubt, good results by 2025. And we decided that we need to enter the legal sphere. The 'Russians' have decided to do the same as we are. We are now going to create separate assault forces; this decision has been made. Everything is being prepared now, and I think in about a week to ten days everything will be operational. Modern assault troops with a drone component, with everything else. Of course, they are currently working together, assault regiments with airborne troops are performing significant tasks,” Zelensky said.
Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine consist of three main types of troops: Ground Forces, Air Forces, and Naval Forces, as well as other branches such as Special Operations Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, Drone Systems Forces, Airborne Assault Forces, and Communications and Cybersecurity Forces.
It is expected that the new assault forces will include modern technologies such as drones. President Zelensky emphasized the importance of this step and the necessity of integrating new units into the Ukrainian Armed Forces. New commanders have also been appointed in various units of the Armed Forces, reflecting the ongoing process of change and improvement in the military sector of the country.
The emergence of separate assault forces in Ukraine underscores the adaptability of the Armed Forces to modern combat requirements. The creation of new units and the implementation of advanced technologies will be an important milestone in strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. These steps indicate the seriousness of Ukraine’s intentions to defend its interests on the international stage.Read also
