Zelensky announced the third negotiations with the USA: discussing ZNPP and territories

According to ТСН: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new session of talks with representatives of US President Donald Trump, where the most difficult issues regarding the end of the war will be discussed.

The head of state reported this on social media. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov gave the first report on the activities of the Ukrainian negotiating team in France on January 7. The upcoming session will be the third in two days.

Discussion of key issues

"We expect to discuss, in particular, the most difficult questions from the basic framework regarding the end of the war, namely - issues regarding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and territories," clarified Zelensky.

In addition, the president instructed the Ukrainian team to discuss possible meeting formats at the leadership level with other countries in Europe and the USA.

"Ukraine does not shy away from the most difficult questions and will never be an obstacle to peace. Peace must be worthy. And it depends on the partners - whether they will ensure the real readiness of Russia to end the war," emphasized the president.

After the day ends, the head of state expects a detailed report from the negotiation team. Umerov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov, Deputy Head of the President's Office Serhiy Kyslytsia, Head of the Servant of the People faction Davyd Arakhamia, and Adviser to the Head of the President's Office Oleksandr Bevz will participate in the meetings on January 7.

Negotiations in Paris

Recall that on January 6 in Paris, Zelensky met with special envoys of US President Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to discuss specific steps towards a just peace. The main topics of discussion included the results of the "coalition of the willing" meeting, where declarations on the deployment of multinational forces and monitoring of ceasefire were signed. The participation of the USA in the reconstruction of Ukraine was also agreed upon, and work on the "basic framework" for ending the war, which includes security guarantees, was continued. The delegations will continue to finalize documents on January 7, which should legally secure the protection of Ukraine from new aggressions.

Witkoff and Kushner, after 10 hours of negotiations, reported the completion of preparations for security protocols for Ukraine. Witkoff announced a "prosperity agreement," which will be the most ambitious plan for economic recovery in the history of post-war conflicts.

Witkoff also noted that the most challenging stage of negotiations with Ukraine remains territorial issues, with which the parties will seek compromises during further talks on January 7 to form a final framework for the settlement of the war.

This news underscores the importance of international negotiations for Ukraine in the context of war. Interaction with the USA and other countries can pave the way for a peaceful resolution of the conflict and ensure stability in the region. During the meetings, the parties discuss not only security issues but also the economic aspects of recovery, which are critically important for the future of the country.
