Zelensky explained the purpose of Russian strikes on Odesa: the city is to be left without resources.
According to ТСН: Russia has carried out massive attacks on Odesa, trying to hit bridges, ports, and important infrastructure facilities. President Volodymyr Zelensky explained why the enemy is acting this way.
In response to questions from journalists during an online conversation at the Office of the President, he noted that strikes on Odesa's ports and bridges are aimed at depriving the city of fuel, food, and medicine.
"It is absolutely clear why this is happening today," Zelensky noted.
The president emphasized that Ukraine will fight for the logistics of each region. He also talked about strengthening the air defense system to enhance protection effectiveness.
Change of Commander
The possibility of changing the commander of the Southern Air Command is also being discussed. The president expressed the need for a quick response:
"I discussed the issue of replacing Commander Karpenko today, I think they will find another candidate."
Despite the difficult situation, the president assured that Ukraine is responding promptly to threats, protecting Odesa and other regions, and continues to ensure the safety of its citizens.
Russia aims to isolate southern Ukraine and Odesa. Occupiers are deliberately destroying the logistical infrastructure of the region. The day before, Russian troops launched a ballistic strike on port infrastructure, resulting in eight deaths.
These aggressive actions by Russia indicate an intention to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine by destroying critically important facilities. The Ukrainian side continues to seek ways to strengthen defense and ensure security for the population amid escalating conflict.
