According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has conducted a working trip to the Donetsk region, visiting key population centers under threat of Russian attacks. His itinerary included stops in Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and other regional towns. A central part of his journey involved meetings with Ukrainian defenders, where Zelenskyy stressed the critical need to maintain the country's defensive capabilities. This visit underscores the intense pressure on Ukrainian forces in the eastern theater of the war.
Zelenskyy met with soldiers from the 28th, 100th, and 24th separate mechanized brigades, as well as the 36th separate marine brigade. The President emphasized that
"the enemy is actively preparing to escalate hostilities."He also stated that
"evil must be stopped,"highlighting the vital role of Ukrainian military actions in the current situation.
Meanwhile, Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, stated that Russian forces currently lack the capability to launch a new offensive on the Ukrainian capital. Military expert Pavlo Palisa expressed the view that it would take the Russian army approximately a year and a half to capture 6,000 square kilometers in the Donetsk region. These assessments point to a protracted and complex situation on the ground, requiring sustained support for Ukraine's defenders.
