Honoring the Troops of Army Aviation

According to UATV: On July 3, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state decorations to soldiers from the Army Aviation branch of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, acknowledging their contributions during the ongoing war. The ceremony took place amid the full-scale conflict, with the president highlighting the critical role of military aviators.

During the event, 15 service members received the following honors:

  • Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 1st and 2nd class;
  • Order "For Courage," 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class;
  • Medals "For Military Service to Ukraine."

Among the decorated personnel was Lieutenant Colonel Pavlo Mudryi, who was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 2nd class. Throughout the war, he has completed 312 combat missions. Additionally, Senior Soldier Anton Mudryi received the Order "For Courage," 3rd class, after carrying out 195 combat sorties and destroying over 200 enemy drones between July and November 2025.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that "during the full-scale war, army aviation has logged thousands of critical combat missions."

The president also expressed confidence that "after this war, Ukrainian army aviation will remain one of the guarantors of security for our friends and partners." The ceremony included a moment of silence to honor fallen soldiers.

This event underscores the vital importance of military aviation in the current armed conflict facing Ukraine. Recognizing these soldiers not only acknowledges their achievements but also boosts the morale of the armed forces. Furthermore, the president’s emphasis on the future role of Ukrainian aviation in safeguarding the country and its allies points to strategic planning for the post-war period.
