Ukraine is ready for direct peace talks with Russia
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders informed U.S. leader Donald Trump that if an agreement on ceasefire is reached, Ukraine is ready to start direct peace talks with Russia.
According to Axios, the conversation between Zelensky, European leaders, and Trump lasted 15 minutes.
'It seems that Trump was satisfied with Ukraine's acceptance of the ceasefire agreement and its readiness for direct talks with Russia,' said one of the interlocutors.
'Now we are waiting for actions from the Russian Federation,' added the media interlocutor.
Sources noted that if Russian leader Putin does not agree to a 30-day truce, European countries will impose new sanctions against Russia.
Earlier, Zelensky announced the start of a truce with Russia.
Analyzing the events, it can be said that Ukraine is actively seeking a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Russia, ready for direct negotiations and interaction with international partners to achieve this goal. This is a positive step in resolving the conflict in Donbas.
