Ukraine’s Zelenskyy and Netherlands PM Discuss Air Defense Boost and Russia Tribunal.
Phone Call Between Ukraine’s President and Dutch Prime Minister
According to UATV: On July 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke by phone with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. Their conversation centered on continued support for Ukraine, specifically strengthening air defense systems and holding Russia accountable for its aggression. Zelenskyy briefed his Dutch counterpart on the impact of recent Russian strikes, which killed 30 people in Ukraine.
Talks on International Backing
The two leaders also addressed the Netherlands’ decision to host a Special Tribunal on Russia’s aggression. Zelenskyy emphasized that this move
“will make it possible to bring Russia’s top political and military leadership to justice specifically for the crime of aggression, not just for its consequences.”Additionally, they coordinated a schedule for future bilateral engagements, signaling continued cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands amid Russia’s ongoing war.
This discussion underscores the critical role of international support for Ukraine as it faces armed conflict with Russia. The planned Special Tribunal in the Netherlands could mark a major step in prosecuting Russian leaders for their aggressive actions, potentially shaping global policy toward Moscow. The agreement to maintain bilateral contacts reflects both nations’ commitment to active collaboration on security and defense matters.
