Zelensky postponed the introduction of new tax rules for individual entrepreneurs until 2025

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 9319, which postpones the introduction of new tax rules for individual entrepreneurs to January 1, 2025.

This was reported by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on finance, tax and customs policy Daniil Hetmantsev on his Telegram channel, as stated by 'Hvylya'.

Thus, the new tax requirements for individual entrepreneurs will come into force at the beginning of 2025 instead of October 1, 2024, as previously planned.

'Taxes for individual entrepreneurs will apply from January 1, and not retroactively,' noted Zheleznyak.

It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law to increase taxes on October 10 in the second reading. In particular, the adopted document does not foresee an increase in the military tax for military personnel.

On November 28, Zelensky signed the law on tax increases. It came into force on December 1, 2024.

In particular, the law on tax increases provides for:

  • increasing the military tax rate from 1.5% to 5%;
  • establishing an obligation to pay military tax at a rate of 1% of income for third-group single tax payers;
  • setting the military tax for individual entrepreneurs - single tax payers of the first, second and fourth groups at 10% of the minimum wage (equivalent to 5% of two minimum wages).
  • clarifying the term for the application of the proposed bill's military tax specifics - until December 31 of the year in which martial law is terminated or canceled;
  • setting the basic corporate profit tax rate for taxing profits of non-bank financial institutions (except insurers) at 25%.

It was previously reported that the tax increases prompted a mass closure of individual entrepreneurs.
