Zelensky showed what the first underground school in the Zaporizhia region looks like.

The first underground school for 1000 children has opened in Zaporizhia

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited a modern underground school in Zaporizhia, which is located underground. This educational institution, built with the support of UNICEF and the Ministry of Education and Science, can safely accommodate 1000 children. The construction of the school took six months.

This underground school has everything necessary for comfortable learning: water, light, fire alarm systems, video surveillance, and ventilation. All these systems operate autonomously. The classrooms are equipped with interactive technology and new furniture. The school also has a play area, relaxation areas, a cafeteria, and a medical point.

«I congratulate you on having the opportunity to communicate, see each other, and learn,» said President Zelensky during his visit.

In the Zaporizhia region, there are also plans to build 10 other underground schools, where more than 8000 students will be able to study.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelensky visited the 27th reactive artillery brigade, named after Petro Kalnychevsky. He inspected the established equipment, communicated with the servicemen, and awarded them state awards. This brigade became the first in Ukraine where Himars systems were implemented for artillery support of the defense of Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions.

The president also visited the first underground surgical group in Ukraine, which operates on the front line.
