According to UATV: On May 29, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelensky informed Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker that Russia is preparing fresh massive strikes against Ukraine. The two leaders also discussed Ukraine's path toward European integration. Zelensky expressed gratitude for Austria's solidarity amid relentless Russian aerial assaults and stressed the need for coordinated responses from allies, particularly regarding the delivery of anti-ballistic missile systems.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian intelligence has detected Russia's plans to launch new large-scale attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities.

“I spoke with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker. I am grateful for the empathy shown in light of the ongoing Russian air strikes. I briefed the chancellor on our intelligence data indicating that the Russians are preparing another massive assault on Ukrainian cities and communities. It is crucial that our partners respond collectively to these bombardments, especially by supplying anti-ballistic systems,” the president stated.

EU Integration Prospects

The meeting also covered Ukraine's European integration process in detail. Zelensky expressed hope that the first cluster of EU accession talks would open in June 2023.

“We also thoroughly discussed Ukraine's European integration process. We expect the first cluster to be opened as early as June. That is only fair—Ukrainians deserve it. I thank Austria for fully sharing this view,” he emphasized.
