Zelensky discussed the exchange of prisoners: when 1200 Ukrainians will be released

On Sunday, August 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the negotiation track with Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and head of the Office Andriy Yermak. In particular, the discussion was about the implementation of agreements following the meeting with the Russian side in Turkey.

The Ukrainian leader reported this on Telegram.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of continuing the exchange of prisoners of war, stressing that there is an agreement for the exchange of 1,200 individuals. Currently, work is underway on the lists of exchange participants.

'The Secretary of the NSDC reported on communication with the Russian representative. We are also working to unblock the return of our civilians, clarifying data on each surname', - explained Zelensky.

The meeting also inquired about interaction with key partners for the return of children abducted by the occupiers. An important topic was the preparation of Ukraine's energy sector and critical infrastructure for the heating season, as well as the development of Ukraine's air defense and strikes on Russian logistics.

'An audit of the implementation of the NSDC and Headquarters decisions is ongoing. Unfortunately, some decisions have not been implemented. This will be rectified urgently', - added Zelensky.

In this context, in addition to discussions about exchanges of prisoners of war and interaction with partners, Zelensky also congratulated the staff of the Air Forces of Ukraine on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on August 3. It is also worth noting that prior to this, the president made personnel changes at the level of regional state administrations, dismissing two heads of positions.
