Zelensky announced a pleasant surprise for schoolchildren from next year.
Zelensky asks the government to provide free meals for all schoolchildren
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is asking the government to provide free meals for all Ukrainian schoolchildren next year. This was announced during the head of state’s speech in parliament.
«This year we provided free meals for Ukrainian children from the first to the fourth grade. I asked the government to ensure free meals for all Ukrainian schoolchildren next year», – said the head of state.
Earlier today, on November 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Resilience Plan in the Verkhovna Rada.
The government provides free one-time meals for students in grades 1-4 starting in October. For this purpose, 2 billion hryvnias have been allocated in the 2024 budget, which will be transferred to local communities as a subsidy. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science. The mechanism for distributing the subsidy funds will ensure equal conditions for organizing meals in all general secondary education institutions across the country.
