Zelenskyy Arrives in Ireland for EU Presidency Launch: Key Talks with European Leaders Ahead.
Zelenskyy Arrives in Ireland
According to Novyny.live: On July 1, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy landed in Ireland to take part in the opening ceremony of Ireland's presidency of the Council of the European Union. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with top European officials, including Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin and European Council President António Costa. This trip marks another step in Ukraine's ongoing diplomatic push to strengthen ties with the EU.
Ireland officially began its six-month rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1, 2023, with plans to allocate approximately 300 million euros to support its operations within the institution.

During his visit, the Ukrainian president emphasized the significance of European integration for his country, stating: 'Ukraine proves every day that it deserves to be an equal part of our shared European home. We hope that during Ireland's presidency, we will achieve tangible progress and open all negotiation clusters.'
It is worth recalling that Poland has voiced opposition to Ukraine's EU membership unless Kyiv abandons the glorification of Stepan Bandera. This issue remains a key factor in Ukraine's European integration efforts and its relations with other European nations.
Ukraine's Diplomatic Push
Zelenskyy's visit to Ireland underscores a renewed intensity in Ukraine's diplomatic outreach aimed at advancing European integration, especially amid fresh challenges facing the country. Ireland's EU presidency could serve as a crucial forum for discussing matters pertinent to Ukraine, particularly its aspirations for EU membership. At the same time, Poland's stance raises questions about unanimous European support for Ukraine, potentially complicating its path toward joining the EU.
