Zelenskyy Announces Potential US-Ukraine-Russia Summit Within Ten Days.
Potential Trilateral Summit Involving Ukraine, US, and Russia
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that a three-way meeting involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia could be convened within a week to ten days. He made this statement on February 24 during a meeting of the 'coalition of the willing' in Kyiv. This development comes as Ukraine continues to seek diplomatic pathways while defending against a full-scale invasion.
Commemorations and Debates Mark Invasion Anniversary
Also on February 24, a ceremony was held at NATO headquarters marking the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Concurrently, debates concerning the situation in Ukraine were taking place in the European Parliament.
In his remarks, Zelenskyy stressed the critical importance of involving European partners in any negotiation process:
“We need Europe in the negotiations. We are doing everything possible to involve Europeans as closely as possible in this process. We are counting on your leadership in this negotiation process. We will have a trilateral meeting format within this week, possibly 10 days. We need peace, but we must prepare for any actions from Russia.” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
This statement underscores Ukraine's drive to intensify diplomatic efforts to achieve peace amid ongoing hostilities. The potential involvement of the United States and European partners signals a push for broader international backing to find a stable resolution to the conflict. Simultaneously, Zelenskyy's comment about preparing for possible Russian provocations highlights a posture of caution and readiness to respond to any escalation.
