Ukraine Engages in Quiet Diplomacy with Donald Trump’s Team

According to Novyny.live: American journalist Barak Ravid has reported on secret diplomatic exchanges between Ukraine and associates of Donald Trump. Specifically, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The call took place at the start of the workweek during a technical stopover by Zelensky in Chișinău.

Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, alongside Steve Witkoff, represents the Trump administration’s interests in these talks. Notably, on June 4, Volodymyr Zelensky published an open letter to Vladimir Putin, urging dialogue and conflict resolution. Additionally, on June 7, Zelensky confirmed that businessman Roman Abramovich had visited Kyiv during the war.

Ukraine Ramps Up Its Diplomatic Push

These developments highlight an intensified diplomatic effort by Ukraine on the global stage, drawing keen attention from analysts and policymakers.

“The conversation occurred during the head of state’s technical stopover in Chișinău,” sources from the President’s Office reported.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump commented on the meeting, stating:
“I have no objections to such a meeting,” said Donald Trump.

These facts underscore Ukraine’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives amid a challenging international landscape and the critical importance of U.S. support. Dialogue with Donald Trump’s circle may signal Ukraine’s attempt to strengthen its global position and explore new avenues for resolving the conflict with Russia. Furthermore, the Ukrainian leadership’s proactive engagement in international relations could open fresh opportunities for cooperation and backing from Western allies.
