Zelenskyy reacted sharply to Vitkoff's statements regarding territories and discussed the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense with Rutte.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Odesa, expressed his position regarding the territorial integrity of the country and the necessity of strengthening air defense.

“For us, these are red lines - to recognize any temporarily occupied territories as Russian. These representatives (the U.S. special envoy Steve Vitkoff) are discussing matters beyond their competence,” said Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy also emphasized the critical need for Ukraine in air defense systems and stated that the country is ready to purchase Patriot systems.

President Zelenskyy noted the disregard by Russia for peace initiatives and stated that Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities indicate that Russia continues the war.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte condemned Russian attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and confirmed the support of the Alliance. He also reported that NATO partners have provided over 20 billion euros in aid to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy and Rutte also visited a hospital where wounded defenders are recovering, and the president awarded soldiers and medics with state honors.

Additionally, Zelenskyy highlighted positive results from negotiations regarding mineral resources and announced new meetings with the U.S. side.
