Ukraine’s President Reveals Scale of Strike: Over 60,000 Tons of Russian Munitions Destroyed.
Key Findings from the Intelligence Report
According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has disclosed the findings of a report delivered by Lieutenant General Oleksandr Ivashchenko, head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR). The report confirms that more than 60,000 tons of ammunition were destroyed at a Russian Baltic Fleet arsenal located near Saint Petersburg. This development highlights the continued effectiveness of Ukrainian military operations amid the ongoing conflict.
In addition, intelligence indicates that Russia is redeploying air defense systems to Moscow and the area around the Kerch Bridge. According to the president, these moves underscore Moscow’s focus on protecting its most critical assets.
'In essence, the Russians have been ordered to defend these two perimeters by weakening other positions on their own soil and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy
On June 20, it was also reported that security at the Moscow Oil Refinery had been urgently reinforced. These steps reflect growing concern within Russia over the safety of strategically vital infrastructure.
'We are preparing new, fully justified responses to Russia’s prolongation of the war and its strikes on Ukrainian territory.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The situation on the front lines remains tense, with both sides signaling readiness for further escalation in the conflict.
Shifting Dynamics in the War
These events point to a change in the operational dynamics of the war, which could have significant implications for its future trajectory. The destruction of such a large stockpile of munitions at a Russian naval arsenal underscores the success of Ukrainian strikes, while the shift in Russian defensive priorities—away from other areas and toward key facilities—reveals heightened anxiety about potential threats. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president’s statements about planning new steps indicate a firm intention to continue active countermeasures against the aggressor.
