Today, August 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with the President of the European Council, António Costa. This was reported by FREEДОМ, citing the head of state's Telegram.
'Reliable security guarantees for Ukraine that will work — this is the most important achievement of our joint work — all partners, and most importantly, the Ukrainian courage that has protected our independence,' — emphasized the President of Ukraine.
The conversation took place after the Euro Council meeting, where the results of negotiations with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington were discussed. According to Zelensky, these negotiations are an important step towards ending the war and ensuring security for Ukraine and all of Europe.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed the results of the Euro Council meeting and agreed on further joint actions. Zelensky expressed gratitude for the unity and support from the European Union, emphasizing the importance of close cooperation.
