Zelensky supports online voting in Diya: who will be able to vote.
According to ТСН: President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed support for the implementation of electronic voting in the presidential elections, particularly the opportunity to vote through Diya and other electronic platforms.
During a press conference, the president answered questions regarding the implementation of this initiative, especially for Ukrainians living abroad.
"I have always supported and raised the issue since the beginning of COVID regarding legislative changes so that people could vote online. So far, we have not found consensus with the parliamentarians," said Zelensky.
He also emphasized that discussions are currently only about conducting presidential elections, without intentions regarding parliamentary or local elections. Zelensky added that the United States is focusing solely on the presidential elections, which he is ready for.
The president reported that there is currently no draft law on elections, but the relevant information has already been communicated to the deputies.
Businessman Igor Kolomoisky described holding elections during wartime as a "catastrophe." Earlier, US President Donald Trump emphasized the importance of holding elections in Ukraine, as he believes they have not been held for a long time, and this issue is very important for Ukrainians.
The initiative for electronic voting has sparked considerable interest among the public, as it could facilitate participation in elections, especially for those who are abroad. However, to implement this idea, it is necessary to find agreement among parliamentarians for the legislative changes to come into effect.
The process of preparing for the elections is being carried out in the conditions of war, which raises certain concerns among experts and politicians. The issues of legitimacy and security of the electoral process remain in the public spotlight.
