Zelensky: US delegation after negotiations in Kyiv headed to Russia.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, reported that NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov had already flown to the USA for negotiations with the American delegation regarding the peace plan.
“There were a number of meetings of our delegation in Florida with the American side. We prepared some decisions and proposals based on our vision together with them,” the President of Ukraine stated.
Zelensky also mentioned that after meetings with the Ukrainian delegation, the representatives of the USA headed to Russia. “What they are talking about, in what constructive format or not, honestly, I cannot answer,” he added.
Further Negotiations with Partners
The head of state emphasized the importance of continuing negotiations between Ukraine and its partners. “We agreed to discuss some sensitive issues with a 3+ country in a broader format in Brussels... After the meeting with the Americans and the delegation in Russia, our two groups will meet in the USA,” Zelensky stressed.
He confirmed that Umerov and Hnatov are already on their way to the USA. “I will find out more information after their meeting when they call,” the head of state added.
Zelensky also commented on when the next contact with the American delegation could occur: “Today, probably... I think maybe today, possibly tomorrow.”
Discussion of the Peace Plan in Moscow
It should be noted that the US peace plan was discussed on December 2 in Moscow. At that time, a meeting took place between US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and advisor Jared Kushner with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin chief called this meeting “very useful.” He reported that the American side divided 27 points of the “Trump plan” into four separate packages for further discussion, noting that it is “premature” to talk about the results.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the USA Olga Stefanishyna announced that Umerov would arrive in the United States on December 4 for further negotiations, including a repeat meeting with Witkoff. She emphasized that Ukraine is “determined to achieve” a long-lasting and fair peace.
Negotiations between the Ukrainian and American sides are gaining momentum against the backdrop of current international events. It is important that the conversation about the peace plan continues and takes into account the interests of all parties, as stability in the region depends on the decisions made. The situation remains tense, and further steps may significantly impact the development of events in the future.
