Up to $1,700 in Aid for Zaporizhzhia Residents: Who Qualifies.
Cash Assistance for Residents of the Zaporizhzhia Region
According to Novyny.live: In spring 2026, residents of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region will be eligible for financial aid of up to $1,700 through a program backed by the German government. Known as JERU, this initiative targets vulnerable populations, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), large families, people with disabilities, and the elderly. This support is part of broader international efforts to assist war-affected communities in Ukraine.
Eligibility Criteria for the Program
Payments under the program are intended for individuals falling into specific categories, such as:
- single parents
- war veterans
- families impacted by the war
- low-income households
Applications for the program will be accepted until April 8, 2026. The funds can be used to purchase equipment, tools, machinery, and office supplies.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians involved in agriculture can receive grants from the charity 'Caritas-Spes Ukraine' starting at $1,250. Some citizens with disabilities may also qualify for a separate payment of 2,000 hryvnias. This initiative is part of the broader program 'Building Resilience in War-Affected Communities in Ukraine.'
This financial support is expected to significantly improve living conditions for many families struggling with the consequences of war and economic instability. Both the JERU program and the grants from 'Caritas-Spes Ukraine' aim to meet the basic needs of vulnerable groups, potentially reducing social tensions and helping revive economic activity in the region.
