Train Schedules Altered in Sumy Region, New Route Implemented Due to Shelling Threat.
Schedule Adjustments for Sumy-Direction Trains
According to TSN.ua: Due to the threat of shelling, train services on the Sumy route have been modified. To ensure passenger safety and reduce travel risks, transit trains No. 45/46 and No. 113/114 (Uzhhorod-Kharkiv) will now operate via a southern route, passing through Lubny, Myrhorod, Poltava, and Liubotyn. These changes are part of ongoing efforts to adapt Ukraine's rail network to security challenges.
New High-Speed Kharkiv-Sumy Train Service
A new high-speed train, No. 213/214 Kharkiv-Sumy, will be introduced starting February 7, 2026. Its schedule calls for a 09:00 departure from Kharkiv, arriving in Sumy at 12:17. The return journey departs Sumy at 12:57, arriving in Kharkiv at 16:01. In Kharkiv, passengers on train No. 213/214 will be able to connect to 7 long-distance services, significantly expanding travel options.
A guaranteed connection in Sumy is available for train No. 775/776 Sumy-Kyiv, which departs at 14:00 and arrives at 19:31. Passengers from Konotop, Vorozhba, Putyvl, Bakhmach, and Nizhyn are advised to take train No. 144/143 (Rakhiv-Sumy) and then transfer to No. 214/213 (Sumy-Kharkiv). This recommended route is designed to provide a comfortable and safe journey under the new operating conditions.
From Kharkiv, the following destinations will be accessible:
- Uzhhorod
- Kholm
- Vorokhta
- Chernivtsi
- Odesa
- Przemyśl
The schedule revisions for the Sumy direction are part of broader measures to ensure passenger safety and convenience amid heightened security risks.
