According to ТСН: Following recent attacks from Russia in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, the restoration of communications continues. Water supply has already been restored in part of Dnipropetrovsk region, and electricity supply has been ensured in Zaporizhzhia.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksii KuLEba reported that work is ongoing to restore water and heating for over one million consumers in Dnipropetrovsk region. In some localities, centralized systems have been partially restored, and teams are working in an intensified mode.

In the Left Bank of Dnipro, water is supplied, albeit with reduced pressure. Social and critical infrastructure facilities are receiving electricity from backup sources.

Situation in Zaporizhzhia

Repair teams have worked all night in Zaporizhzhia. The city has once again received electricity, and the supply of heating and water to homes is still ongoing. Boilers are operating in normal mode thanks to the provision of electricity supply.

Rail transport in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia continues to operate. Electricity supply in Zaporizhzhia has been restored for strategic facilities, and trains are running as usual.

Blackout in the regions

On the evening of January 7, due to massive attacks, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions were left without power. Emergency power outages occurred in the cities of Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih, leaving people without water and heating. Hospitals and the water supply company in Zaporizhzhia switched to generators, and mobile communication has started to operate in an economical mode. In Kryvyi Rih, due to damage to the heating system, up to 200 tons of water is lost per hour. Ukrzaliznytsia has deployed reserve locomotives, resulting in delays for several trains to Kyiv, Lviv, and Kholm. Additional 'Points of Resilience' are being organized in the regions.

The restoration of energy and communication systems in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions is critically important for stabilizing the situation. Operational measures from the government and military are helping to restore basic services for the population, but many people still require assistance. Spontaneous power outages threaten the functioning of infrastructure, so carrying out repair work and restoring electricity supply remain a priority for the authorities.
