Ukrainian youth reads less about sex: the paradox of the study.
The rise of the popularity of corset novels among the youth
According to inkorr.com: In the last five years, young readers have become increasingly interested in 'corset novels', which are known for their intimate scenes. Female readers dominate, and many of them even enjoy reading erotic books together with their partners or listening to erotic podcasts. These data resulted from a new study.
High demand for 'nice love scenes'
According to analyst John Horsley, the demand for 'nice love scenes' remains consistently high. This trend is confirmed by the popularity of works such as 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. However, the study also revealed that the overall interest in sex among Ukrainian youth is decreasing compared to previous generations, despite the availability of various erotic content.
This phenomenon may indicate a change in values among the youth, who prefer not only eroticism but also emotional fulfillment from reading. It is also worth noting that modern technologies and changes in communication culture affect how young people perceive intimacy and sexuality, which may lead to a new stage in the formation of literary tastes.
