AFU advanced within Chasiv Yar: ISW analysis.

Ukrainian forces made minor movements on the right bank of the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal in Chasiv Yar. This information is noted in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Meanwhile, Russian troops continue offensives near Lyptsy, Hlyboke and Vovchansk, advancing north of Kharkiv.

Geolocated footage published on August 17 shows that Russian forces made minor advances in northeast Makiivka. But confirmed movement of the frontline has not been recorded.

Russian offensive actions also continue in the Siversk and Toretsk directions. However, there is currently no reliable information on significant troop movements or frontline shifts.

Ukrainian forces advanced within eastern Chasiv Yar, confirmed by geolocated footage published on August 17. They are also reinforcing positions in the forested area west of Klishchiivka. However, these claims by a Russian blogger are not confirmed by ISW.

Russian troops advanced southeast of Pokrovsk. However, confirmation of this information is not yet available. Likewise, no confirmations were found for the claims by Russian bloggers about the capture of Novoheorhivka and advances east of Pokrovsk to Krutyi Yar.

According to a representative of the Ukrainian brigade fighting in the Pokrovsk direction, Russian military command has not redeployed its forces from this direction and the main Russian forces remain in eastern Ukraine.

Russian forces continue to advance in the Pobed area, but there is currently no reliable data on changes in the frontline.

Positional battles also continue in the west of Zaporizhia region, but currently there are no confirmations of Russian army troop movements to the south of Ukraine in the Kursk region.

Russian forces are attacking the Kherson region but are not in the active phase of advancing.
