Militants captured Pishchane: Butusov reported on the situation near Pokrovsk

In the village of Pishchane, located south of Pokrovsk, it was possible to liberate it from the enemy during the fighting that took place from February 2 to 6. More than 80 Russian occupiers were destroyed. The losses in the Armed Forces of Ukraine were significant but much less than those of the Russians. This was reported by journalist Yuriy Butusov.

“The first to break into the village were the soldiers of the 425th assault regiment 'Skala'. After the fighters of the 425th destroyed and seized the main strongholds of the enemy, the warriors of the 210th battalion of the 120th Territorial Defense Brigade and the 32nd mechanized brigade entered the village to provide support, finished off the enemy, and consolidated the success. On the outskirts of the village, small groups of the enemy are still being cleared, as they try to regain their position,” Butusov said.

The counterattack was carried out on the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, by the 425th assault regiment.

The actions were coordinated by the commander of the Operational Tactical Group 'Donetsk', Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, and the commander of the tactical group 'Pokrovsk', Oleksandr Bakulin.

The village of Pishchane was liberated by the 425th assault regiment for the second Time. Earlier, there were individual Russian assault groups that cleared it, but due to organizational and management problems, they retreated, and the enemy re-captured the village. The fighters of the 425th assault regiment have held positions near Pishchane 14 times.

The assault on Pishchane was a difficult operation due to the significant defense of the Russians. However, this time the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to achieve success due to proper planning.

“In Pishchane, a drone system was established, which allowed for effective task performance, despite the activity and strikes of Russian drones and artillery. All this work was done with the enthusiasm and motivation of the unit commanders without rest, supporting our infantry. Well-prepared and supplied infantry coped excellently with the hardest work,” Butusov emphasized.

Earlier, the fighters of the 68th separate ranger brigade conducted a daring operation on one of the front lines.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russians lack resources for their frontal attack tactics. Major Viktor Trehubov, a spokesman for the operational-strategic grouping of troops 'Khortytsia', reported this.

Russian soldiers also hoisted their flag on one of the slopes near Pokrovsk, but it was destroyed by Ukrainian scouts.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced personnel changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the appointment of Major General Mykhailo Drapaty as the head of the operational-strategic grouping of troops 'Khortytsia'.
