Zelensky’s Planned Meeting with Trump at NATO Summit

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intends to hold talks with U.S. President Donald Trump during the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. This potential meeting highlights Zelensky’s emphasis on domestic unity, which he views as essential under current circumstances. He has called on Ukrainians living abroad to stand with their country during this difficult period.

Zelensky stressed that societal cohesion—among civilians, the public, and the military—remains the top priority.

“Unity within our state is the priority. If we lose our unity, if games about elections or other divisive issues continue, anything that could split society will certainly be exploited by Russia,”
the president warned. His remarks underscore the need for Ukrainians to work together to strengthen national identity and counter external threats.

Active Support for Ukraine

Furthermore, Zelensky urged Ukrainians to stay vigilant and actively back their nation.

“Don’t let your guard down. Go to the squares, as you did at the start of the war, support Ukraine, remind everyone that we are still fighting. This isn’t empty rhetoric—it’s a fact,”
he added. The president also noted that Ukraine’s unity poses the greatest threat to Russian President Vladimir Putin, a reality Putin understands very well.

Against this backdrop, Ukraine continues its accession negotiations with the European Union—a process that could mark a significant milestone in the country’s development and bolster its international standing. The meeting with Trump at the NATO summit will serve as a key platform for discussing regional security and deepening U.S.-Ukraine cooperation.

The planned encounter between Zelensky and Trump at the NATO summit reflects Ukraine’s strategic push to strengthen international backing amid ongoing Russian threats. By underscoring the critical need for internal unity, the president aims to mobilize Ukrainian society and call for active defense of national interests. It also signals Ukraine’s desire to more closely involve Western partners in addressing key security and stability issues in the region.
