Nuclear Safety: First Point of the Peace Formula Discussed in Paris.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak participated in an online conference dedicated to issues of radiological and nuclear safety. The event was organized by France, the Ukrainian side, as well as Czech Republic, Japan, and Sweden. Representatives of 70 countries and international organizations, including Ukraine, took part in the conference.

Andriy Yermak emphasized that radiological and nuclear safety have become important political issues due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The capture of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is the largest in Europe, violates international law and nuclear safety norms. Ukraine must regain control over its nuclear facilities and adhere to international standards.

Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko noted that Russian missiles and drones fly over Ukrainian nuclear power plants, which could lead to a disaster. Russia must stop attacks on Ukraine's energy sector, and Ukraine's partners should support this decision.

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Noël Barrot demands the protection of nuclear infrastructure in Ukraine through joint actions and support from the IAEA. Russia continues its aggression against Ukraine, and this poses a threat to nuclear safety.

This conference is part of the first Peace Summit, and the outcomes of all conferences will form the basis for proposals at the second Peace Summit.
