Zelensky is looking for a new head of the Office of the President: what criteria for the candidate.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is considering the candidacy of a new head of the Office of the President (OP) due to the need to withstand growing external pressure and carry out a 'reset' of power structures. The main requirements for the future head of the OP are decisiveness, high competence, and the ability to communicate quickly with international partners.
Advisor to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podolyak reported this during a television marathon.
Podolyak emphasized that the President's Office operates under significant information-political pressure from the Russian Federation. This pressure manifests itself through statements about the 'illegitimacy' of Ukrainian power and speculations around peace negotiations. He also outlined key requirements for the candidate for the head position.
“What are the tasks for the head of the Office? They are obvious — moderation of negotiation processes, in which the president participates. And this is the moderation of internal political processes,”
Podolyak also confirmed that the President of Ukraine is talking about a possible 'reset of power institutions,' which may mean greater independence for certain branches of government, particularly the Cabinet of Ministers and parliament.
“At the beginning of the war and until the middle of the war, the concentration of certain powers in the hands of the president was an objective reality. Today, probably, it will be necessary to come to the point that greater responsibility for the internal agenda should be borne by the Cabinet, the parliament, for example,”
Describing the ideal candidate, Podolyak highlighted the following characteristics:
Competence and analytical abilities.
Willpower and psycho-emotional resilience to withstand internal and external pressure.
Communication skills to quickly engage in the negotiation process and lead discussions with partners.
Mykhailo Podolyak emphasized that the head of the Office should be an active manager of the president, who is involved in external initiatives.
“Some psycho-emotional resilience because there will undoubtedly be attempts to reformulate things even deeper. There will certainly be attempts by the Russian Federation to attack. They are starting to interfere today, and they will do this. It is important for them that we have significant internal conflicts. Russia can only operate through this, and it constantly does. Therefore, I think the candidacy will be sufficiently optimal for this stage. And the president understands that he must retain the new operational manager,”
It was also reported that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine confirmed that it is conducting searches at the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak. Yermak himself confirmed this information and expressed his readiness to cooperate with investigators. However, he did not specify the reasons for which the searches were initiated.
President Zelensky in a video address reported that Andriy Yermak submitted a resignation letter and signed the corresponding decree.
In addition, information about a possible candidate for the position of the new head of the Office of the President has emerged.
Now it is important how international partners will react to changes in Ukrainian politics. In the future, this may have a significant impact on Ukraine's strategy regarding foreign policy and partnerships, as well as on internal reforms in the face of modern challenges.
