Winter in Ukraine will be 4 degrees warmer than the norm: meteorologists' forecast.
According to ТСН: The average temperature this winter in Ukraine may be even higher than previously predicted, exceeding the norm by 3-4 degrees.
This was reported by the head of the Applied Meteorology and Climatology Department of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute, Vira Balabukh.
She also noted that clear changes will be felt in the western and northern regions of Ukraine, where "anomalies may reach up to +4 degrees, and possibly higher."
Temperature in January and February
The expert reported that such high temperatures will persist during the first two decades of the month. After that, positive anomalies are expected, but already less significant.
Balabukh also emphasized that January remains the coldest winter month in Ukraine, however, its average temperature may be 1-2 degrees above the climatic norm. The average air temperature for the month will vary from 1-2 degrees above zero in the south to -3 and below in the northern and northeastern regions.
In January, the likelihood of Arctic cold penetrating also increases, which is typical for this month. Similar forecasts apply to February.
Let us remind you that the forecasters of the "Ukrhydrometcenter" have already created a weather forecast for December. According to it, the average monthly temperature is expected to be in the range of 3° frost to 5° heat, which is 2° higher than the norm.
Thus, the summer anomalies that we can observe this winter indicate climate changes that affect not only the temperature but also the weather in general. The situation requires careful monitoring, as such deviations may have serious consequences for the ecosystem and agriculture in Ukraine.
