App Store blocked 50 apps with online casinos: details.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation approached the App Store and Google with a request to block apps with illegal online casinos. Unfortunately, only the App Store has already blocked 50 such apps. This was reported by Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation.
Fedorov thanked Apple for the quick response and setting up a fast-track process for blocking these apps. All apps identified by the Ministry of Digital Transformation's team will be immediately blocked. The Deputy Prime Minister urged people to report the discovery of other apps to the email address [email protected] with the subject "Casino Block".
Negotiations with Google regarding the blocking of online casinos are also ongoing. However, further details are not being disclosed at this time.
It should be noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has banned the advertising of gambling and betting companies until the law on combating gambling addiction comes into force.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also endorsed a decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding the operation of online casinos. The corresponding decree was published on the official website of the president.
