Arctic chill in Ukraine will change to warming: when to expect positive temperatures.

According to ТСН: In 2026, a noticeable Arctic chill is felt in Ukraine. However, from January 2, weather conditions will start to change under the influence of the Atlantic.

Impact of cyclones on the weather

According to meteorologist Vitaliy Postryhan, from January 3 to 5, Ukraine will be under the influence of a warm and moist cyclone, the center of which will be over the Baltic States.

"The temperature background will rise: at night 1-3° frost, during the day 1-3° warmth. Occasionally light snow, frost will somewhat weaken," noted the meteorologist.

During the period from January 3 to 6, thanks to active cyclonic activity, frosts will become weaker. Such conditions, caused by the intense mixing of air masses, will promote the cleansing of the atmosphere and improve air quality.

"Let’s not forget that January is the coldest period of the year. It is characterized by intervals of moderate and even severe frosts. Also blizzards and snowfalls related to the outbreaks of southern cyclones," added Postryhan.

Beginning of the year with frosts

It was previously reported that the New Year in Ukraine will begin with frosts. According to meteorologists' forecasts, the weather on January 1 will be shaped by cold air masses that will continue to flow from the north.

With the upcoming changes in weather conditions, Ukrainians can expect snow and stable drops in temperature more frequently. This marks the beginning of the year with typically winter-related phenomena that can ultimately affect everyday life, outdoor activities, and, of course, the mood during the festive period.
