According to ТСН: Russia's statement about allegedly massive attacks by Ukrainian drones on the residence of President Vladimir Putin has caused significant public resonance.

The Kremlin, accusing Ukraine of "state terrorism", suggests that the lack of corroborating evidence and signs of real conflict only amplifies experts' doubts regarding the seriousness of its statements.

Western media report that the main goal of this propaganda is to negatively affect the image of US President Donald Trump.

Russia Threatens Response

After Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement regarding a review of the country’s negotiating position, he described Ukraine as a "terrorist and racist" state.

Lavrov accused Ukrainian leadership and its partners of "cynicism" and stated that peace negotiations are impossible without a change in Kyiv's policy. He also thanked Russia's allies for their condemnation of the "attack".

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov believes that Kyiv's "attempt to attack Putin's residence" aims to disrupt the negotiation process.

According to him, this "attack" was targeted not only at Putin but also at Donald Trump and his peace efforts.

However, the Kremlin did not specify where Putin was during this allegedly "attack" on Valdai. "This topic is not open for public discussion," the Kremlin representative noted.

How India and China Reacted to the Kremlin's Statements

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concerns about the information regarding the "attack" on Putin's residence. He emphasized the necessity of diplomacy as the "most viable path" to peace.

China also called on all parties to exercise restraint and work towards political resolution. The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of preventing escalation of the conflict.

Residents of Valdai Expose the Kremlin's Lies

Journalists, surveying 14 residents of the town, found that on the night of December 29, they heard no sounds of drones or explosions.

The local authorities did not issue warnings about aerial threats, which is customary in cases of actual attacks, and eyewitnesses believe that such an event could not have gone unnoticed.

"There were neither buzzing sounds nor explosions," added one of the respondents.

The residence is located across from the town via a lake, so generally, Putin's presence there is accompanied by heightened security measures.

However, "that night in Valdai was marked by ordinary silence," despite claims of a "thwarted attack".

Ukrainian Intelligence Provided Facts Regarding the "Attack" on Putin's Residence

The Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service reported a significant information campaign by Russia aimed at discrediting Ukraine and disrupting agreements between its president and the US leader.

The operation began with Lavrov's statements and received support from other officials and pro-Kremlin media, indicating centralized control from the Kremlin.

Ukrainian intelligence also released facts that refute the version of a real attack:

  • Local residents of the Novgorod region reported no drone activity on December 29, while the Kremlin spreads fake messages;
  • No real evidence of an attack—debris or photos that Russia failed to provide;
  • The Russian Ministry of Defense changed the number of "downed" drones twice.

Moreover, analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that there were no comments from local officials or reports from regional media regarding potential damages, and polls among residents show that no one heard the anti-aircraft defenses.

Russia Undermines Progress in the Peace Process

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga refuted rumors about an "attack" on Putin's residence, emphasizing that Russia provided no evidence of an attack.

Sibiga expressed disappointment with the responses from the UAE, India, and Pakistan regarding this incident, stressing that the global community should not succumb to Kremlin manipulations.

Trump May Believe Putin at His Word

Donald Trump, commenting on Russia's accusations of an attack, expressed outrage, noting that Kyiv claims there was no attack, but he trusts Putin's word.

This reaction from Trump has drawn criticism among Republican politicians, who urged him not to make conclusions based on the Kremlin's words without verifying facts.

Who is Targeted by the Kremlin's Manipulation

Fake reports about the "attack" on Putin's residence primarily aimed at discrediting Ukraine and were also directed at Donald Trump.

Experts believe that the Kremlin is trying to disrupt the results of the meeting in Mar-a-Lago and undermine support for Kyiv in peace negotiations, which, according to Trump, are 95% complete.

Commenting on the situation, analysts note that unfounded accusations could serve as a pretext for Russia to escalate the conflict.

Russia seeks to break Ukraine at all levels and seize annexed territories.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasized the importance of systematic preparation for peace negotiations despite the informational pressure from Russia.
