The cyber attack on Ukrzaliznytsia is compared to a terrorist attack
The head of the State Cyber Protection Center, Yevheniya Nakonechna, stated that the cyber attack on the company 'Ukrzaliznytsia' can be compared to a terrorist attack. According to her, the tactics and technologies used in this attack indicate the involvement of Russian special services.
Nakonechna emphasized that cyber attacks are extremely painful and critical. She also pointed out that unique malicious software was used, specifically created for the attacked infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia. This operation required significant resources and extensive preparation.
Recall that on March 23, large queues arose at all train stations in Ukraine due to problems with the online systems of Ukrzaliznytsia. The next day, news emerged about the cyber attack on this company.
After prolonged work, the website and application of Ukrzaliznytsia were restored. On March 29, the company announced that it had fully restored online passenger ticket sales.
