Sole Custody Father Mobilized in Kryvyi Rih, Son Sent to Orphanage.
Mobilization Incident in Kryvyi Rih
According to TSN.ua: A 43-year-old single father raising his minor son alone was mobilized for military service in Kryvyi Rih. After reporting to the Central City Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC), the man did not return home and lost contact with his child. Concerned by his father's absence, the son subsequently contacted the police. This case highlights the severe domestic disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where mobilization can leave vulnerable dependents without immediate care.
As a result, the child was placed in an orphanage. A scheduled court hearing on February 14, 2023, to formally recognize the man's status as a single father did not proceed due to the absence of child welfare officials. It is known that the man's wife had previously left the family and moved abroad, though she has not been stripped of her parental rights.
Challenges Posed by Wartime Mobilization
This situation underscores the complex hardships families face during mobilization and the difficulties of raising children amid such uncertainty. It is crucial to recognize that such cases can have long-term consequences for children left without proper guardianship during military conflict.
The experience of other nations that have endured similar conflicts demonstrates the necessity of establishing robust support mechanisms for families and children in these crisis situations.
