The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Ukrainians are counting on the elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding achieving a just peace, but he emphasized the unacceptability of territorial concessions to Russia.

In an interview with CBN, the president noted that Trump's statement about the intention to end the war within 24 hours after the inauguration is perceived by Ukrainians as a signal of readiness to act decisively.

'People have hope for the new U.S. administration and the new president. When the president talks about 24 hours - this is definitely not about solving everything in a day; it is very complicated. But his words indicate that he wants to do this quickly, and that is important,' Zelensky emphasized.

The President of Ukraine clearly expressed his position on territorial issues: 'We cannot legally recognize our occupied territories as Russian. This is impossible under the Constitution of Ukraine and the law. This will lead to a division of Ukrainian society, and the unity of society has been our strongest weapon since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.'

Zelensky stressed the importance of a strong U.S. position: 'America cannot be weak and cannot lose Ukraine. If the position of the United States is not strong, the explosions of war will be in other corners of the world.'

According to the president, diplomatic settlement is possible, but it must ensure a sustainable and secure peace for Ukraine. 'If we do not have enough strength, some issues can be resolved diplomatically, and that is correct, but we will not legally recognize the occupied territories as territories of Russia,' he emphasized.
