Bloomberg: Talks about Ukraine's Concessions May Inspire Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin may find inspiration in discussions of possible concessions from Ukraine in the war, said Bloomberg columnist Anthony Halpin. According to him, Ukraine has made significant efforts in fighting the Russian army, but some of Kyiv's allies see the need for a flexible approach to ending the conflict.

U.S. President Joe Biden canceled his visit to Germany due to a hurricane threat, so discussions of possible concessions from Ukraine did not take place. Now, it is difficult for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to secure support for his "victory plan," especially in the context of the retreat of Ukrainian troops.

Some European allies are also starting to tire of supporting Ukraine in a war that shows no signs of ending. Discussions about possible concessions from Ukraine are vague, but possible options include providing security guarantees and recognizing Russia in the occupied territories.

Russian President Vladimir Putin shows no interest in negotiations. Talks about concessions may only worry the Kremlin, Halpin asserts.

Despite the games and discussions, the main question for Ukraine's allies is whether they continue to allow Putin to benefit from military aggression and what the cost of this will be for them.

Let us recall that Ukraine plans a peace summit with Russia by the end of the year.
