Latest Updates on Mobilization Exemptions in Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: Ukraine has streamlined the process for extending employee draft deferrals through the Diia online portal. Companies can now renew their reserved status without having to cancel the existing one, significantly reducing bureaucratic hurdles for businesses.

The renewal procedure is available on the Diia portal and typically takes up to 24 hours. This service applies to legal entities and their branches, supporting critical enterprises. Applications can be submitted by company directors, signatories, or authorized representatives of firms listed in the Unified Register of Critically Important Enterprises.

Automatic re-reservation occurs if neither the authority that granted the critical status nor the employee’s role has changed. These updates were implemented by Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Digital Transformation, and Ministry of Defense. The United Nations Development Programme and the Swedish government also supported the rollout of these changes.

Updated Reservation Rules

As of March 2026, Ukraine enforces revised reservation rules requiring a minimum salary threshold of 21,617 hryvnias. These adjustments aim to improve conditions for companies operating in vital economic sectors and ensure their stability amid ongoing mobilization.

The changes to employee reservation procedures represent a key step in maintaining economic stability in Ukraine during mobilization. By simplifying the process, the government hopes to reduce administrative barriers for enterprises performing critical functions. This could positively impact job retention and sustain economic activity under wartime conditions.
