The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov stated that the battles for Hostomel and Moschun disrupted Russia's plan for a quick capture of Kyiv, affecting the further development of the military operation. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Budanov's statement in an interview with 'Ukrinform'.

«The heart of the plan was the landing of tactical airborne troops in a landing manner in Hostomel. And the planes were in the air. These are well-known facts. But in the end, we destroyed these plans together with the National Guard units that were there in a permanent deployment point, engaging in the first battles. And ultimately created conditions under which the Russians could not land a single plane there,» said Budanov, noting that the second was Moschun, and if Moschun had fallen, the Russians would have entered Kyiv.

Also, according to the head of the GUR, the battles in Irpin were another significant event that partially divided the grouping of Russians, after which their retreat began.

Recall that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov predicted the paths of advance and the sequence of actions of the enemy accurately three months before the start of the full-scale invasion, in November 2021.
