Ukrainian Drone Range Triples, Now Striking Targets 35 km Away.
Buffer Zone Significantly Expanded
According to TSN.ua: Denys Yaroslavskyi has announced a major expansion of the buffer zone, which is now three times larger, with drones achieving an operational depth of 25-35 km. This marks a substantial increase from early 2024, when their effective range was limited to about 10 km. The current operational depth varies depending on the specific drone model in use.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also spoken about establishing a buffer zone within Russian territory in the direction of the Kharkiv region.
"We can now reach 25-35 km, depending on the FPV drone model," noted Denys Yaroslavskyi. This enhanced reach provides a critical strategic advantage for Ukraine's defense. The expansion is of strategic importance for controlling the situation in the region and directly impacts Russia's ability to mass forces near the border.
Impact on the Conflict's Trajectory
The tripling of the buffer zone could significantly influence the conflict's course. It grants Ukraine enhanced capabilities for reconnaissance and for preempting enemy attacks. The increased drone range will allow for better coordination of military units and more effective responses to threats from the adversary. Looking ahead, this development may alter the balance of power in the region and force both sides to adapt their military strategies.
