On January 4, during his third combat sortie, Vitaliy Slovik, a resident of Lviv, fell while defending Ukraine. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Vitaliy Slovik was born on December 27, 1994, in Lviv. He attended Secondary School No. 27 in Lviv named after the Heavenly Hundred hero Yuriy Verbytsky. He obtained an education at the Technical Vocational College of the National University 'Lviv Polytechnic' in the specialty of 'Production, Maintenance and Repair of Electronic Household Appliances'.
In 2016, he obtained a bachelor's degree in the field of 'Radio Electronic Devices', and in 2017, he graduated from the National University 'Lviv Polytechnic' and received a master's qualification in the specialty of 'Telecommunications and Radio Engineering'.
In 2020, he graduated from the Western Ukrainian Center for Primary Vocational Training 'Police Academy' of the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs with a specialization in 'Special Police'.
He worked as an assistant operative in the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Lviv Region. He actively engaged in sports, played football since childhood, and won numerous awards. According to his relatives, Vitaliy Slovik 'was always cheerful and full of life; everyone who knew him would say that he was the best person, a loyal friend, and always ready to help'.
Senior sergeant. He carried out combat missions in the ranks of the National Police of Ukraine. For his diligent service, he was awarded a number of honors, including the badge 'Veteran of War'. He died defending the state during his third combat sortie.
The defense ceremony took place on January 15 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul, and the defender was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
Vitaliy Slovik is survived by his wife, mother, two grandmothers, two uncles, godparents, and mother-in-law.
