Russia does not see the EU at the negotiating table: what is the reason for the Kremlin's statement.
According to ТСН: Russia claims that it does not see Europe in the negotiations regarding the peace plan of US President Donald Trump. According to them, the reason lies in the position of the European Union.
Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko commented on this situation. In a style typical for the Kremlin, he accused European leaders, claiming that the EU leadership 'does everything' to prevent a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
'The EU is excluding itself from the peace process, its current position contradicts the goals of achieving peace,' Grushko stated.
Interestingly, EU foreign affairs and security policy representative Kaja Kallas proposed to impose restrictions on Russia within the framework of the peace plan. According to her, to achieve a 'just and lasting peace', Russia must make significant concessions and reduce its military power. The diplomat also emphasized the EU's principled position regarding the negotiations.
These alarming statements indicate that the situation surrounding the peace negotiations remains tense. The lack of constructive dialogue between the parties and the differing approaches to conflict resolution undermine the possibility of achieving lasting peace in Ukraine. The EU's response to Russia's statements once again demonstrates their intention to continue supporting Ukraine in this complex process.
