NATO lacks consensus on Ukraine: Rutte names opposing countries.
According to ТСН: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that there is still no unified decision within the Alliance regarding the possible acceptance of Ukraine.
He pointed out that some member countries express open opposition or have doubts about the feasibility of Ukraine's full membership at this stage.
“We know that a few allies, including Hungary, the USA, and other countries, are against or have doubts about Ukraine's full membership in NATO,” said Mark Rutte.
The Secretary General emphasized that the differences between the states in the bloc are not a secret to the international community.
“This is obvious, it's a fact,” he stated, commenting on the position of the participating countries.
It is worth noting that earlier, Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kalinak expressed the opinion that Ukraine is unlikely to join NATO, as well as that it will face difficulties on the path to Eurointegration.
Furthermore, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, whose party includes Robert Kalinak, has repeatedly bluntly spoken out against Ukraine's accession to the EU.
These statements confirm that Ukraine faces many challenges on the path to alliances such as NATO and the EU, including internal contradictions among member countries and growing skepticism about the speed of integration processes. At the same time, it is important to monitor the alliance's further position in light of current geopolitical challenges.
