Priest Filuk explained whether it is necessary to consecrate a new home and how it protects the family.
According to ТСН: Famous priest and blogger Oleksiy Filuk expressed his opinion on the importance of consecrating a house or apartment. He emphasized that a joint prayer with a spiritual leader allows God to "settle in the house" and protects its residents from troubles.
In a video on Filuk's Instagram page, he stated:
"Blessing the house, praying in the house — this is normal, this is blessed. Without God — not even to the threshold. There are many wonderful cases where people sincerely pray with faith and live according to the word of God — the Lord protects them, their home, and their families. And blessed is that family where prayer goes on, where they sit together at the table — pray, where they move into a house — pray, call the priest. The priest comes, everyone together and the Lord settles in this house,"
- said the clergyman.
Consecration of the home
Filuk noted that consecrating one's home is a right and necessary decision.
"To begin with, if people have moved into a new home, the house is consecrated, blessed, and prayer is made. This is good, this is normal. Should we live like bears in the forest? We live normally as Christians. In cities, priests are invited and priests consecrate apartments. And this is normal. So the choice is yours. I do not force anyone to do anything, but it is possible and necessary to consecrate the house,"
- he added.
Furthermore, the priest stressed that one should not mix mourning for deceased relatives with New Year's traditions. He explained that Christian teaching does not prohibit setting up a Christmas tree after losing loved ones.
The priest's opinion on the consecration of the home confirms the importance of the spiritual component in the life of every family. Consecrating the house not only strengthens the faith of the residents but also creates a special atmosphere for joint prayer and family traditions. His remarks regarding New Year's celebrations also emphasize that Christianity allows for continuing to celebrate even in difficult times, without forgetting the memory of loved ones.
