Podolyak on voting for draft evaders: will they lose their right to vote.
According to ТСН: Advisor to the President's Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, commented on the possible prohibition of voting for draft evaders in the upcoming elections.
In his comments, he emphasized that all aspects of the elections, including the issue of voting rights for men who evade service, will be discussed within a working group of Members of Parliament. This is due to the need for legislative changes.
“Parliamentarians must answer these questions. Then there may be some public discussion. And after that, there will be a decision on how it all should proceed. So we cannot talk about what is just starting to be discussed,” Podolyak explained.
It is also worth noting that earlier President Zelensky stated his readiness to hold elections during the war, but only under certain conditions.
In this context, it is important to keep track of further discussions, as the issue of voting for draft evaders raises significant controversy in society. The Parliament's decisions and the discussions ahead may significantly impact the electoral process in Ukraine.
